New School Opens in the Philippines with Funding from Gaming Regulator

A new training center has been inaugurated in the municipality of Tarlac, Republic of the Philippines, with financial support from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

The construction of the elementary school, costing almost 18 million Philippine pesos (approximately $324.5 thousand), was sponsored by PAGCOR to address the urgent need for additional classrooms. The region had faced infrastructure challenges since the devastating earthquake in 1990, which severely damaged local buildings. PAGCOR's contribution of 17.87 million Philippine pesos ($320.6 thousand) facilitated the construction of an earthquake-resistant, two-story school building.

Pura Mayor Freddy Domingo expressed gratitude to the gaming regulator for its "invaluable support," and six primary classes have already commenced in the newly constructed facility.
